We are in the process of upgrading our site to better serve our Members and the Rice Athletic Community. Thank you for your patience.

Founded in 1913, the "R" Association is open for membership to the more than 4,200 former Rice student-athletes, trainers, coaches and cheerleaders.

Because this group plays a vital role in boosting the visibility and pride of Rice Athletics, including sponsoring the All-Sports Banquet, the Student Academic Award Ceremony, the Senior Breakfast and the Rice Athletics Hall of Fame Ceremony, we need your support.

The "R" Association Mission is Threefold (Activities Page):

  1. Assist the Athletic Department in support of intercollegiate athletics at Rice
  2. Honor individual members who have brought honor and distinction to Rice University and the Athletic Program
  3. Provide Information and benefits to all active members to increase awareness and encourage support of current athletes

To make a donation, please visit the Rice Owls Ticketmaster Portal. Instructions are available on the Membership Page should you have problems. If you have any questions or need assistance in any way, please contact us.

Hall of Fame

The R Association inducts a new class into the Athletic Hall of Fame, Distinguished “R” Award, and Honorary “R” Award every odd year; 2013, 2015, 2017, etc.  Nominations are accepted any time. Inductees are selected 2 to 3 months before the induction ceremony usually held in October or November.

Reunions

The R Association is available to help Letter Winners in organizing and coordinating their team reunions, but will not provide any funding. Your team representative will work with The R Association Reunion Committee Chair and the Executive Director. Read more on our Events page.
