Letter Winners Helping Letter Winners

Our goal is to network as many Letter Winners as possible to assist all Letter Winners wherever he or she may be on their career path. You may be a Student Athlete looking for that first job, a Letter Winner looking for a career change, or you may even have been laid off or lost your job. If your company has a job opening to fill, please read the Employers Section, below.

Job Seekers

  1. Contact the R Association Executive Director (ED), Don Knodel.

    Discuss your situation with the ED prior to step #2. You may just need direction and advice from Letter Winners presently in careers you might be considering.  Whatever your needs, Don can guide you in the right direction.

  2. The first action will be to get you in front of 3,800 R Association Letter Winners.
    • Email a short paragraph about yourself to rassoc@rice.edu.
      • Include your employment experience, sport(s), year, major(s), job interest(s) and location preference(s).
    • We will blind copy your message to all Letter Winners. (Your email will only be viewed by the ED).
    • We will pass interested Letter Winners' contact information on to you.
    • We will send out your information several times over the next few weeks.
    • We will also post on this website.

  3. We recommend you sign up on Linkedin if you are not already a member. It's free. Join the following groups.

    The site includes other Rice Alumni groups and also offers group networking events.

  4. The ED and the R Association Board of Directors will also work to get you some face time with Letter Winners in your chosen career path or interest(s).

  5. Continue to stay in contact with the ED throughout your job search and keep us updated. It may take some time, and a few adjustments along the way, but we will assist the best we can.
